Marble is composed mostly of calcium carbonate fossils. Although these floors are a natural beauty, they can be subject to environmental detriments. Etching is one of the more common issues that occur to marble and natural stone floors. Etching occurs when acid or alkaline type liquids such as juice, urine, liquor and even household cleaning supplies are left on the marble. Overtime, the appearance and the texture of the marble will dull and stain. The only method to removing the etching is to diamond grind the floors and apply a poultice to the damaged areas. We at Colonial have developed a proprietary poultice that does absolute wonders!!!

If you want to bring out the magnificent color and shine to your marble floors, we apply a stone color enhancer which also seals the stone’s surface to add more protection due to the porosity of the floors. We bring new life to your dull surface leaving you with a high shine finish by honing your stone floors or surface with a 5x polishing powder to remove any haze left on the floors.
